Laura Kahudic Macola, 98, of 40 S. Nichols St., Saint Clair, died Monday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.
Born in Morea, July 23, 1917, she was a daughter of the late John and Pauline Stanek Kunash.
She was a seamstress in the garment industry at several area factories.
Laura was a member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church, Saint Clair, St. Barbara's Society, a former Sunday school teacher and church worker at the hall, Saint Clair Senior Citizens and ILGWU. She loved baking, gardening and crafting. She was No. 1 Mom and Grandmom.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew Kahudic; her second husband, George Macola; a son, Andy Kahudic; two granddaughters, Cori Kushwarra and Karen Kahudic; three sisters, Matilda Burg, Frances Penzine and Mary Mazure.
Surviving are three daughters, Mary Anne Kushwarra and her husband, Fred, Frackville, Dorothy Sankus, Saint Clair, and Elaine Booble and her husband, Al, Frackville; three sisters, Johanna Fahner, Michigan, Theresa Willard, Florida, Rose Gregg, Michigan; two brothers, Larry Rozansky, Michigan, and Richard Rozansky, Frackville; three grandsons, Fred, John and Gary; two granddaughters, Kimmy and Gina; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday from St. Michael's Orthodox Church, 109 N. Nichols St., Saint Clair. The Rev. Jeff Zias will be officiating. Friends may call from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. at Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 N. Second St., Saint Clair. Parastas will be held at 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Holy Ascension Orthodox Cemetery, Frackville. Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
