Matthew Buletza , 87, of 36 N. Nichols St., St. Clair, died Thursday in Carlisle surrounded by his family.
Born in St. Clair, October 3, 1928, He was a son of the late Matthew and Anna (Costy) Buletza.
He graduated in 1947 from St. Clair High School.
Matthew Buletza served in the US Marines during the Korean War.
He was a member of the St. Clair Lions Club, St. Clair Old-Timers Baseball Association, and Arnots Game and Sport Association.
He was the former Chairman of the St. Clair Democratic Party and served several terms on Borough Council.
Matt was involved in St. Clair Sports all his life. He was on the High School Baseball and Basketball championship teams in 1947. He managed and coached Biddy Basketball, Teeners Baseball and Midget Football. He played Semi-Pro Baseball for the Arnots Sox, M & S , Frackville and Pine Grove Teams
He was a member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church , St. Clair where he belonged to their Citizens Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife Frances "Jean"(Flannery) Buletza in 2013; 2 sisters Mary Floarke and Anna Kline.
Surviving are 2 sons Matthew Buletza and his wife Susan of St. Clair; Joseph Buletza and his wife Beth Ann of Carlisle; 3 grandsons Matthew Buletza and his wife Jen; Corey Buletza; Seth Buletza; 2 great grandchildren Conlan and Caleah.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:45 AM Wednesday from the Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home 110 N. 2nd Street St. Clair, PA 17970 further services will be at 10:30 AM from St. Michael's Orthodox Church , 109 North Nichols Street St. Clair. The Rev. Jeff Zias officiating. . Friends may call from Tuesday from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM ( Panachida at 7:30 PM ) and 8:30 AM -9:45 AM Wednesday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St Michael Memorial Fund. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
