Catherine “Kitty” Reed, 91, of St. Clair, died Sunday November 8, 2020, at LVHN Schuylkill East.
Born in McAdoo, December 11, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette (Borycka) Henning.
Kitty worked in the garment industry for Phillip Van Heusen, as a Nurse’s Aide at the former Rest Haven Nursing Home, Schuylkill Haven, as a Clerk for Woolco, GeeBee and Value City Department Stores in Pottsville and as a Crossing Guard for the St. Clair Area School.
She was a member of St.Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frederick Reed 1n 1991; 2 sisters Constance Cain and Genevieve Olson; brother John Henning; her companion Harry Dechert in 2015.
Surviving is a son Elwood C. “Woody” Reed and his wife Anne of Pottsville; sister Anastasia Bulino of Pottsville; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Monday Nov. 16, 2020 from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 319 Mahantongo St. Pottsville, PA 17901 with Rev. Barnabas Shayo officiating. Friends may call Monday 9:00-10:00 AM at the Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home 110 North 2nd Street, St. Clair, PA 17970. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Penn State Health Office of University Development 1249 Cocoa Ave. Suite 115 PO Box 852 Hershey, PA 17033. Burial will be in Queen of the Universe Cemetery, Pottsville.
