Gail C. Camodeca, 77, of Pottsville, peacefully passed away Friday morning into the arms of her Lord and her daughter, Crystal Camodeca, in the comfort of her home with her loving husband, Douglas C. Camodeca Sr., by her side.
Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Melvin and Margaret Urch Reed.
She was a graduate of Pottsville Area High School and worked throughout the years at Bayshore Knitting Mills, Deer Lake Drive-In, Mount Hope School cafeteria and Warren H. Trezise Catering.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pottsville and throughout the years was a member of the church choir, Girls Guild, Mount Hope PTA and a Brownie troop leader.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Crystal, Pottsville; and a brother, Wayne Reed, Parkside.
Gail is survived by her husband of 58 years, Doug; a daughter, Margaret (Peggy) Burns, wife of Robert, Pottsville; son, Douglas C. Camodeca Jr., husband of Patti, Pottsville; a sister, Barbara Seltzer, wife of Robert, Schuylkill Haven; and a brother, Bill Reed, Port Carbon. She is also survived by the joys in her life, her grandchildren, Robert Burns Jr., Pottsville, Valerie Burns, Baltimore, Md., Erick Camodeca, husband of Lindsay, Baltimore, Md., Christopher Camodeca, Douglas Camodeca III and Tiffany Camodeca, all of Pottsville; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, 701 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. Visitation and a luncheon will follow. There will be no viewing or calling hours before the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The First Baptist Church Deacon Fund. Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 N. Second St., Saint Clair, is in charge of arrangements.
