James A. Burke, 76, formerly of Palo Alto, died Saturday at Orwigsburg Center, Orwigsburg.
Born in Pottsville, July 26, 1940, He was a son of the late Raymond and Grace (James) Burke.
James was a hardworking man. He retired in 2001 after working in Management at several steel foundries. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. James was always there to lend a hand when needed, especially to his family. He loved old western movies, taking his grandchildren for long walks, and loved working on cars in his free time.
In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by a son Randy Burke and a sister Virginia Fekete
Surviving are his wife of 52 years Diane (Crawford) Burke, daughter Wendy Daubert and her husband Edward of Pottsville; 3 sons, James A . Burke Jr. of Mahanoy City; Brian Burke and his wife Melissa of Shamokin; Mathew Burke of VA; 2 Brothers Raymond Burke Jr. and his wife Anna Mae of Frackville; Michael Burke and his wife Cathy of Leesport; 13 Grandchildren, Tyke Burke, Nicole Pavalko, Kristi Burke, Audrey See, Rachel Burke, Brandon Daubert, Joshua Daubert, Connor Daubert, Gabriella Daubert, Adelle Burke, Tristan Burke, Avin Burke, and Madyson Burke. Also 3 Great Grandchildren Connelly Pavalko, Ashleigh Burke, and Aschtyn Gasbarra. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM Friday from Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 North Second Street St. Clair. The Rev. Janet Lewis will be officiating. . Friends may call from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Orwigsburg Center.
Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
