James J. Woollam , 92, formerly of St. Clair, died Wednesday at Genesis Health Care Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.
Born in Wadesville, October 18, 1924, He was a son of the late James and Catherine (Diener) Woollam.
Staff Sergeant Woollam served in the Army Air Force in WWII. He was a member of the 409th Squadron, 93 Bombardment Group flying in 35 bombing missions over enemy territory.
He retired as a Steel worker from the former Aetna Steel, Pottsville.
Jim was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair.
He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine (Trout) Woollam on October 19, 2011; 2
Surviving are daughter Annette Honicker and her husband Solon of West Point, PA; 2 grandsons Solon and James Honicker; granddaughter Tamara Holland and 12 Great-Grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday April 25, 2017 from St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 250 E. Hancock St. St. Clair with Msgr. William F. Glosser officiating. . Friends may call from 9:00 – 10:00 AM Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Clair Veterans Honor Guard , 536 South Mill Street , St. Clair, PA 17970. Burial with military honors by St. Clair Honor Guard will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
