James R. Lecher, 88, formerly of Pottsville died Saturday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.
Born in Pottsville, November 3, 1927, he was a son of the late Theodore and Genevieve (Holley) Lecher.
He served in the Army Air Corp. during the Korean War.
Jim retired from Aetna Steel, Pottsville, as a Purchasing Agent and subsequently worked at the Pottsville Hospital for 10 years. He then moved on to pursue his love of buying and selling antiques.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife Patricia (Kalbach) Lecher in 1985, Daughter Debbie, Brothers Bill, Bob, Joe, and Sisters Jean and Dorothy Ann.
Surviving are 2 sons, James Lecher and his wife Bonnie of St. Clair; Brian Lecher and his wife JoAnn of Hummelstown; Brother Thomas Lecher of Schuylkill Haven; 7 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday January 8, 2016 from the Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 North Second Street St. Clair. The Rev. Christopher Zelonis will be officiating. . Friends may call from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM Friday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery.
