John Ackers, 83, of 1891 Long Run Road, Schuylkill Haven, died Thursday at Rest Haven Nursing Home.
Born in St. Clair, September 4, 1931, He was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Matzko) Ackers.
Jack served his country in the US Navy.
He retired from IBM, Reading working as a Computer Technician.
He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair and St. Clair American Legion Post 719.
Surviving are his wife of 32 years Marie (Yatsula) Ackers, niece Michele Hutton of Zion Grove; 2 nephews Anthony Arlotto of Wapwallopen and Michael Arlotto of Hazelton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday February 3 from St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 250 E. Hancock St. St. Clair. The Rev. Msgr. William F. Glosser will be officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 AM- 10:30 AM Tuesday at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Clare of Assisi Memorial Fund, Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Boniface Cemetery, St. Clair .
