Our precious Mother, Mary Regina (Ryan) Fitzpatrick, 96, of Branchdale, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.
Born in Duncott, May 30, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Caroline (Neidlinger) Ryan.
In addition to being a full-time mother, during her life she was employed by several garment companies. Mary was a member of Holy Family Parish, the former St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish, and the ILGW Union. In her spare time, she loved shopping, reading books, and watching her beloved Phillies. Some of her favorite dishes were her Pan filling for Thanksgiving, rice pudding, and her coconut cream & Peanut Butter eggs that we would sneak and carefully rearrange. She devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Living until 96 years old, we believe that God, in his infinite wisdom, knew it was going to take that long for us to prepare to face this day. We are never ready to lose someone we love so much.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. Fitzpatrick in 1977 and a son Robert Fitzpatrick in 2019; three brothers Lawrence, Patrick and George Ryan; four sisters Susan Hughes, Kathryn Koscil, Alice Woodford, and Betty Ryan.
Surviving are a daughter Maureen Fitzpatrick and granddaughter Caroline Fitzpatrick-Denchy and her husband Mark of Branchdale with whom she resided; son Thomas Fitzpatrick and his wife Maureen of Branchdale; daughter Diane Ehlinger and her husband Bertrum of Minersville; daughter Judith Culbert and her husband William of Pottsville. Fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
