Michael Kasmer, 92, of Frackville, died Friday at his home. He was a Frackville resident for more than 60 years. He was born in Duncott to the late Alice Karpulk Kasmer and Michael Kasmer Sr. He retired from the former Metropolitan Mirror and Glass Co., Frackville. He served in the Army 854 Engineers in the south Pacific during World War II. He was a member of the Holy Ascension Russian Orthodox Church, Frackville, and the Frackville American Legion Post 398. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 45 years Theresa (Chrin) Kasmer. He was the beloved father of two daughters, Theresa Butler, Nazareth, and Elaine Kasmer, Frackville; and a son, Mark, New Tripoli. He was a beloved grandfather to Nicholas Butler, Easton, Natalie Butler, Ambler and Kaitlyn Kasmer, all of New Tripoli; and sister, Lorraine Storrs, Portland, Ore. Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Nice-Hart Funeral Home Inc., 9 N. Lehigh Ave., Frackville. Further services will be held at 10 a.m. at Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, Frackville, with The Very Rev. James Jadick officiating. Friend may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with Parastas at 8 p.m. and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be in Holy Ascension Orthodox Cemetery, Frackville.
