Michael Laurie Sr., 100, formerly of St. Clair died Friday at Rosewood Nursing Home, Schuylkill Haven PA.
Born in St. Clair, April 28, 1918, He was a son of the late Charles and Mary (Kalinich) Laurie.
Michael served in the US Army during WWII.
He was a retired Miner having worked at the Repplier, Buck Run and Salem Hill Collieries.
He was a member of St. Michael Orthodox Church, St. Clair.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Helen (Metrick) Laurie in 1992, 4 sisters Margaret Kapusta, Mary Gursky, Elsie Stencovage, Anna Sekela, 1 brother Charles Laurie.
Surviving are son Michael Laurie of Schuylkill Haven, daughter Patricia Hoffman Hepner and her husband Ned of Schuylkill Haven; brother John Laurie of St. Clair; 2 granddaughters, 4 great- grandsons, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM – Wednesday from St. Michael's Orthodox Church , 109 North Nichols Street St. Clair. The Rev. Jeff Zias will be officiating. Friends may call from 8:30 AM – 9:45 AM Wednesday at Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home 110 North 2nd Street, St. Clair, PA 17970 In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michael's Memorial Fund.
