Paul J. Banaszewski, 74, of Harrisburg passed away Monday July 10, 2023 at UPMC-Harrisburg.
Born in Shenandoah April 26, 1949, he was a son of the late Anne Marie (Yancius) and Anthony E. Banaszewski.
A graduate of Shenandoah Catholic High School, Paul voluntarily enlisted and served honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He continued serving his country working for 35 years at the New Cumberland Army Depot.
Paul was a lifelong hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was extremely generous and kind of heart accompanying the Harrisburg First Assembly of God Church on missionary trips to countries including Russia, Panama, Nepal and Turkey. His Faith was a large part of his life. He was always willing to help anybody and everybody.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother John Banaszewski.
Surviving are 3 sisters, Antoinette Banaszewski of Shenandoah, Ann Banaszewski of Shenandoah, Mary Fore and her husband Ron of Shenandoah, 2 brothers Joseph Banaszewski and his wife Kelly of Collegeville, Anthony Banaszewski and his wife Patti of Kensington, MD. Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday July 14, 2023 from the Nice-Hart Funeral Home Inc., 9 North Lehigh Avenue, Frackville, PA. Friends may call from 10:00 – 11:00 AMat the funeral home.
Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Casimir Cemetery, Shenandoah.
