Born in Pottsville, June 17, 1945, she was a daughter of the late John and Alice Krebs Tipping.
Shirley graduated from Saint Clair High School and retired as a nurses aide from Hamburg State Hospital in Hamburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph McGinley, in 2004; two brothers, Henry and Walter Tipping; and a sister, Alice Slackus.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Hinchey and her husband, Dennis, Saint Clair; two sons, Joseph McGinley and his wife, Alanda, Middleport, and Michael Tipping and his companion, Donna Platts, Saint Clair; three sisters, Grace Tiping, Saint Clair, Dorothy Miller, West Virginia, and Gladys Clocker, Frackville; a brother, Wayne Tipping, Washington; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family from Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 N. Second St., Saint Clair. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap, Annville. Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, Saint Clair, is in charge of arrangements.
