Stephanie Shandor, 77, of St. Clair, died Wednesday July 10, 2024, at her residence.

Born in Pottsville, December 30, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Basil and Helen (Horas) Hopko. 

She was a 1964 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School. 

Stephanie worked as a waitress at the former Melnic’s Cafe and Stone Manor Inn, St. Clair and as a teacher aide for the IU 29, but for most of her 53 years of marriage she was happiest as a stay at home mother and homemaker. 

She was an active member of St. Michael Orthodox Church, St. Clair. She sang in the choir, and was a member of the parish council and the sisterhood. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Paula Christensen and a brother Robert Hopko. 

Surviving are her husband Jack Shandor, two daughters; Camille Habacker and her husband James of New York, NY; Ivana Shandor and her significant other Bill Palko of York; brother John Hopko of Wernersville; four grandchildren Veronica, Mitchell, Lincoln, and Leo, nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday July 16, 2024 at St. Michael Orthodox Church Mill and Hancock Streets, St. Clair PA 17970. The Rev. Jeff Zias will be officiating.  Friends may call from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Monday (Parastas 7:30PM) and Tuesday 9:00 AM  – 9:45AM at the Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home 110 North Second Street St. Clair, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Building Fund, 106 North Morris Street, St. Clair, PA 17970. Burial will be in St. Michael Orthodox Cemetery, East Norwegian Twp.
