Verna Shelhamer , 95, of 224 N. Center St., Frackville, died Friday at Broad Mountain Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Frackville.
Born in Jonestown, July 19, 1918, She was a daughter of the late George and Carrie (Gould) Brown.
She was a graduate of Minersville High School and the Ford School of Business.
Verna was a member of First United Methodist Church, Frackville, PA
She was preceded in death by her husband Clayton Shelhamer on July 6, 1994 and a brother Melvin Brown who passed while captive as a WWII POW in the Philippine Islands.
Surviving are a daughter Janice Davis and her husband Robert of Frackville, 2 sons C. Garth Shelhamer and his wife Rondi of Jackson, NJ; Kevin B. Shelhamer of Frackville; a granddaughter Kimberly D. Hughes; a grandson R. Clayton Hughes; a great grandson Skylar Hughes; Nieces & Nephews
Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Salvation Army, Pottsville Corp PO Box 107, Pottsville, PA 17901.
